Post-weld heat treatment of Inconel 625 Weld Neck Flanges is not necessary to maintain corrosion resistance. Due to ability of Inconel 625 fasteners to prevent, stress, crevice and pitting corrosion, it is utilized in a diversity of corrosive environments. In mild applications such as atmosphere, fresh or salt water, neutral salts and alkaline media is is almost completely resistant. In more severe situations the nickel and chromium content provides resistance to oxidizing chemicals.

Inconel 625 exhibits high resistance to corrosion and oxidation, high strength and toughness, and excellent fatigue strength. This nonmagnetic, nickel-based alloy also offers an extremely broad working temperature range¡ªfrom cryogenic to 2,000¡ãF (1,093¡ãC).
