ASTM A320 Grade L7 is a material specification for bolts, studs, nuts, and other fasteners designed for high temperature bolting applications. Class 660 fasteners are used to bolt boilers, pressure vessels, pipe flanges and valves for high temperature service.

ASTM 182 is used for pressure systems, including flanges, fittings, and similar parts that conform to specified dimensions or dimensional standards such as ASME codes.

The alloying elements of A335 also impart higher corrosion resistance to the steel pipe. This also makes it the first choice for chemical companies.

A weld neck flange, also called a tapered hub flange or high-hub flange, is a kind of flange that can relocate stress to the pipes, ensuring a decrease in high-stress concentration at the bottom of the flange.

Its greatest advantage is that it can be assembled without welding, which explains its use in low-pressure service at ordinary atmospheric temperatures and in highly explosive areas where welding creates a hazard.

ASTM A182 Gr F9 flanges are typically designed for applications with high temperature requirements. Alloys used to produce flanges according to this specification include wrought or rolled alloys and several stainless steel grades.

A182 F91 Wrought alloy steel tubes, flanges, wrought fittings and valves and other components for high temperature use.

The production of ASME SA182 F9 flanges will be done using alloys with lower carbon content. Reducing the carbon content in these alloys reduces the formation of carbide precipitates. This basically means that alloy steel F9 flanges will no longer be susceptible to intergranular corrosion in the heat affected weld zone.

The high chromium content gives these forgings fittings very good resistance to moisture erosion, which also contributes to their high temperature strength and resistance to scaling at high temperatures.
