Inconel 625 is a corrosion and oxidation resistant nickel alloy with high strength and excellent resistance to water corrosion. Its exceptional strength and toughness are due to the addition of niobium, which works with molybdenum to strengthen the alloy’s matrix. Nickel alloy 625 aerospace applications include jet engine exhaust systems, propeller blades, heat exchangers and aircraft applications. It is also used in heat shields, furnace hardware, chemical plant equipment and seawater applications. Alloy 625 is non-magnetic and able to operate over a wide temperature range, from cryogenics to 980 degrees Celsius. This supports applications in jet engines, heat exchangers, furnace hardware and chemical plant equipment.
