The 316L Round Bars are made up of the low carbon version of the 316 grade stainless steel alloy. It has a maximum carbon content of only 0.03%, whereas it is 0.08% for the 316 grade ss. Grade 304 (aka 1.4301, 1.4037, 18/8, A2) Stainless Steel Round Bars
Grade 304 is the most popular stainless grade. These round bars are easily TIG, ARC and MIG welded and can also be brazed. While grade 304 is not a machinable grade of stainless steel (grade 303 is best for machining), it can be machined under the right conditions.

The A479 specification contains tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and hardness values for many different heat treatments. Special instructions for heat treatment and additional corrosion testing of austenitic stainless steels are also included in the specification. The grades of A479 steel are also defined by their chemical composition.

Grade 304 stainless steel is the standard “18/8” stainless steel; it is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel available in a wider range of products, forms and finishes than any other. It has excellent forming and welding characteristics.

The Stainless Steel 304 Round Bar, as the name suggests is made up of 304 grade stainless steel material. It has around 18% chromium and 8% nickel in its chemical composition. The round bar shows high resistance to corrosion and enhanced strength properties. The material is quite strong with around 515 Mpa min tensile strength and min yield strength of 205 MPa.
