2507 super duplex pipe resistant to erosion corrosion

Super Duplex UNS S32760 is one of the most common super duplex grades on the market. UNS S32760 is a duplex stainless steel designed for use in corrosive chlorine-containing environments, with the addition of W and Cu compared to UNS S32750.

An austenitic-ferritic stainless variant with a higher stress corrosion cracking resistance in comparison to regular austenitic 304 and 316 stainless, but with a lower toughness and impact strength.

While Duplex 2205 is the most common duplex product we supply, we can also deliver Duplex 2304 and Duplex 2207 with reduced lead times as these alloys are stocked. Alloy 2205 (UNS S32305/S31803) is a 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum, 5-6% nickel, nitrogen alloyed duplex stainless steel pipe with high general, localized, and stress corrosion resistance properties in addition to high strength and excellent impact toughness.

2507 Super Duplex Stainless Steel was designed for demanding applications which require exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, such as chemical process, petrochemical, and seawater equipment.

Super Duplex 2507 is used in environments containing high levels of chlorides or dissolved oxygen, such as seawater cooling, salt evaporation, and desalination, geothermal wells.

The machinability of 2205 steel pipe is low due to its high strength. The cutting speeds are almost 20% lower than that of grade 304.

Compared with ferritic stainless steel and austenitic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel pipe has good welding performance. It is neither like the welding heat affected zone of ferritic stainless steel, because of the grain coarsening, the plastic toughness is greatly reduced, nor like austenitic stainless steel, it is more sensitive to welding hot cracks.

The 2205 was developed to provide excellent machinability. Control of composition and inclusion type improves chip formation and reduces tool wear, resulting in higher machining efficiency and lower tool costs.

Duplex 2205 stainless steel round bars (ASTM A276/ ASTM A479) exhibit good heat resistance up to 300¡ã. SS Rod can be easily welded by most standard methods, the only mandatory requirement is the use of filler metal. Due to its high strength, machinability is low.

Super Duplex 2507 cannot be strengthened by heat treating. Annealing is performed at 1920¡ãF – 2060¡ãF (1049¡ãC – 1127¡ãC), followed by rapid cooling.

Zeron 100 is highly resistant to corrosion in a wide range of organic and inorganic acids. The copper content gives excellent resistance to corrosion in many oxidising acids. This alloy is also highly resistant to strong alkalis.
