Designers may have the option to reduce the wall thickness of the duplex 2205 welded pipe, because of its high yield strength. The yield strength of this material is almost two times that of the usually used austenitic stainless steel grade. Unlike austenitic steel pipe, the Duplex 2205 Tube may at times exhibit magnetic behavior because the microstructure of its alloy contains about 50% ferrite.

S32760 super duplex stainless steel is more resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion than regular austenitic or duplex stainless steels and is suitable for use in corrosive environments. This is due to higher additions of chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen.

2205 flange has good general corrosion resistance, high resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, as well as pitting and crevice corrosion.

2507 is a super-duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel for service in highly corrosive conditions.

The corrosion resistance comes from the addition of alloying material, mostly the chromium content. The ASTM A790 Pipes are resistant to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion. The pipes could also be electric fusion welded.

Known for its high impact strength, UNS S32760 exhibits no ductile-brittle transition, but only a slight decrease in impact energy with decreasing temperature.

Duplex 2205 is a nitrogen enhanced duplex stainless steel designed to solve common corrosion problems encounutered with 300 series stainless steels.

S31803 has been supplemented by S32205 (F60) which dual conforms to S31803 but has a higher minimum N, MO, NI and Cr which guarantees a better corrosion resistance.

Duplex 2205 fasteners are made from standard duplex materials. The material consists of carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum, 4.5% nickel and nitrogen.

S32760 also has high strength and extended service life. It is 10% lighter than grade 316 steel, ideal for sub-zero use, and more cost-effective than nickel alloys. Stainless steel grade F55 can be easily machined and welded.

The duplex microstructure gives this grade high strength UNS S32750 a low coefficient of thermal expansion and higher heat conductivity than austenitic steels and is suitable for working temperatures up to 300¡ãC.

Duplex steel alloys have the properties of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. This is because they have nearly equal proportions of dual microstructural phases (austenite and ferrite) in the annealed condition.
