S32750 S32760 Super duplex stainless steel pipes with excellent localized pitting resistance

Duplex 2205 stainless steel (ferritic and austenitic) is widely used in applications requiring good corrosion resistance and strength. Grade S31803 stainless steel was modified several times to form UNS S32205, which was recognized in 1996.

It is a super duplex alloy, so heat resistance is also what Super Duplex 2507 rods are capable of. River or sea water often contains highly corrosive chemicals containing sulfur or chloride ions, and materials such as the 2507 Super Duplex Round Bar can withstand these chemicals.

For many applications where 300 series stainless steel is susceptible to chloride stress corrosion cracking, 2205 duplex stainless steel is a cost-effective solution. Stress corrosion cracking occurs when stainless steel is subjected to tensile stress while in contact with solutions containing chlorides. Elevated temperatures also increase the susceptibility of stainless steel to stress corrosion cracking.

Duplex2507 thread rod are dual phase austentic-ferritic duplex fasteners manufactured from alloy containing chromium, nickel and molybdenum with restricted carbon content and minimum PREN42. SAF2507 thread rod have high strength, resistance to pitting, stress corrosioni cracking, erosion and corrosion fatigue, crevice corrosion resistance.

S31803 Duplex Steel is a 22% chromium duplex (austenitic/ferritic) steel with moderate to good strength and good general corrosion/stress corrosion/cracking resistance.

UNS31803 has been supplemented by S32205 (F60) which dual conforms to S31803 but has a higher minimum N, MO, NI and Cr which guarantees a better corrosion resistance.

The granular structure of duplex is a ferrite-austenite hybrid with a superior strength to weight ratio in comparison to 304 or 316. It balances the weldability of an austenitic with a pure ferritic and retains decent mechanical toughness in applications with exposure to colder ambient temperatures.

Duplex 2205 bolts have a ductile to brittle transition at -50¡ãC and also become brittle at 300-1000¡ãC, so a temperature of -50¡ãC to 300¡ãC is recommended. Exposure to above 300¡ãC will not only cause embrittlement of 2205 bolts, but will also reduce corrosion resistance.

The combination of the ferritic phase and austenitic phase provides both high strength and excellent corrosion resistance.

The steel has excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, high thermal conductivity and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen levels provide excellent resistance to pitting, crevice, and general corrosion.

Duplex 2507 is a super duplex stainless steel designed for applications which demand exceptional strength and corrosion resistance.

For duplex S31803 nuts, 2 minutes to 3 minutes per mm of wall thickness at temperatures around 1080 degrees Celsius is sufficient to achieve a balanced austenite/ferrite ratio. After annealing, it is recommended to cool these Duplex S32205 nuts as soon as possible.

The inclusion of chromium imparts good corrosion resistance to austenitic grade 304. However, increasing the chromium content to about 25%, as in the case of 2205 duplex stainless steel pipe makes the alloy resilient across several media.

ASTM A479 Duplex Steel UNS S32205 Spring Washers have excellent weldability and can be joined by most common welding methods such as metal arc welding, plasma arc welding, submerged arc welding and gas tungsten arc welding. ASME SA 479 Duplex Steel UNS S31803 Square Washer is a ferritic, austenitic 22% chromium, two phase, 3% molybdenum and 5-6% nickel alloy steel.

The A182 Gr. F51 / S31803 material is a typical duplex stainless steel, which contains approximately 50% ferrite and 50% austenite.

2205 is the standard duplex grade and is more economical than most other duplex grades.

ASTM A240 Duplex 2205 Sheets contains approximately 40-50% ferrite. Often referred to as the work horse grade 2205 is the most widely used grade in the duplex family of stainless steels.

The advantages of duplex steels include: good weldability and machinability, high resistance to corrosion fatigue, resistance to stress corrosion cracking (especially chloride stress corrosion cracking), erosion and high energy absorption.

The 2507 pipes could also be electric fusion welded. The Pipes Manufacturer comes under five different classes with each class having a special mechanical property setup. The electric resistant welded pipes are stronger and they could be used for extensive welding.

2101 is a low nickel, lean duplex stainless steel possessing both superior strength and chloride stress-corrosion cracking resistance when compared to 300 series stainless steel.

2205 duplex grade without requiring higher levels of nickel or molybdenum. This means that it is a low-cost option than most austenitic stainless steel having the same requirements.
