Grade P11 is known as chrome molybdenum alloy steel. Compared to carbon steel, the properties of this alloy steel are much higher. This situation requires the application of post weld heat treatment (PWHT). If you want to avoid PWHT then you can use preheat (120¡ãC) when soldering A335 grade P5c tubes. PWHT is required if the thickness of ASTM A335/ASME SA335 P5c alloy steel pipe is greater than 13 mm.
