Inconel 600 round bar is a nickel-based alloy with benign carburization and excellent corrosion resistance at high temperatures. Alloy 600 bar is a nickel-chromium alloy with good oxidation resistance and resistance to chloride pressure decomposition cracking, high cleanliness water corrosion and acid oxidation at elevated temperatures.

In oxidizing conditions, INCONEL 600 has better corrosion resistance than Alloy 200 and Alloy 201.

Some applications suitable for Inconel 625 include seawater, aerospace and chemical processing. About Seawater Inconel 625 is a common choice due to its excellent corrosion resistance, fatigue strength and high tensile strength. Propeller blades, subsea motors, and subsea cable sheathing are good applications for Inconel 625, where the bar becomes wire once it passes through a certain minimum diameter, in which case the wire can be used for mooring cables.

Inconel 625 bolts can be used in a variety of corrosive environments due to their ability to prevent stress corrosion, crevice corrosion and pitting corrosion. In mild applications such as atmospheric, fresh or salt water, neutral salts and alkaline media are almost completely tolerated. In more severe cases, nickel and chromium content provides resistance to oxidizing chemicals. Inconel 625 bolts are also resistant to non-oxidizing environments.

Inconel 718 is a nickel-based precipitation hardening alloy designed for very high yield strength, tensile strength and creep rupture properties at temperatures up to 1300ºF (705ºC). This alloy has excellent solderability.

One of the distinguishing features of Inconel 718¡¯s composition is the addition of niobium to permit age hardening which allows annealing and welding without spontaneous hardening during heating and cooling.

Inconel 625 round bars are also used in nuclear reactors, combustion systems, rocket thrust chamber tubes, transition liners, compressor blades, turbine seals, and more. It has excellent formability and solderability due to its high nickel content. 625 Round Bar has excellent resistance to a variety of acidic environments such as nitric, sulfuric, hydrochloric and phosphoric environments. In addition, they provide protective properties, surrounded by alkali metals.

At elevated temperatures the annealed and solution annealed alloy shows good resistance to scaling and has high strength. The alloy also resists ammonia bearing atmospheres, as well as nitrogen and carburizing gases.

These Inconel 718 fasteners do not lose strength despite exposure to extreme temperature ranges. Alloy 718 bolts are used in cryogenic storage tanks due to their good mechanical and physical properties in extremely cold environments.

The Alloy 625 Blind Flanges and other types also have very high melting point of 1350 degrees Celsius. The high melting point allows the flanges to be used in high temperature applications along with the strengths allowing these for high pressure applications as well.

Alloy 718 is used in these environments due to its high strength and ability to perform well at high temperatures.

Corrosion rates are generally accelerated in aqueous media. However, due to the alloy’s strong nickel and chromium chemical base, the corrosion rate of nickel alloy 601 hex bolts is much lower.
