It combines the corrosion resistance of Monel K-500 but gives the added advantage of extra strength and hardness (as a result of its age hardening ability).

Monel gaskets, such as Monel 400 and K500, are made of nickel-copper alloys that exhibit high strength, toughness and good corrosion resistance over a wide temperature range. A standout feature of Monel gaskets is their excellent resistance to hydrofluoric acid, a particularly difficult acid to handle, at all concentrations up to the boiling point. For hydrofluoric acid applications, Monel gaskets are probably the most corrosion resistant of all commonly used specialty alloys.
