The nickel content provides very good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking and pitting. By conventional methods, these fasteners are formed by cold and hot working processes. Incoloy 800H has a restricted carbon content range of 0.05 to 0.10%, which is in the upper portion of that of Incoloy 800, and is annealed at 1149 to 1177oC (Incoloy 800 is annealed at 983 to 1038oC). These differences impart it to have higher stress rupture and creep properties than Incoloy 800.

The chromium and nickel contents of this alloy provide excellent oxidation resistance at low concentrations of oxidizing and reducing sulfur, good resistance to carburization and sulfidation. The alloy also has reasonable resistance to nitriding in cracked ammonia, but not as much as Inconel 600.

825 alloy sheet has excellent corrosion resistance. Resists general corrosion, intergranular corrosion, pitting and crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking under reducing and oxidizing conditions. It can be easily worked hot or cold. Especially suitable for phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, sulfur-containing flue gas, oil wells, sour gas and sea water.

Alloy 800HT / Incoloy 800HT is a controlled composition derivative of INCOLOY alloy 800H (UNS N08810) and is used for the same creep resistant applications, however the combined effects of mechanical and thermal processing of the alloy permit higher design stresses to be incorporated than are permitted for the conventional alloy.

Grade 825 Incoloy alloy used to make butt welded pipe fittings has high corrosion resistance. It contains a high nickel content, sufficient to resist chloride ion stress corrosion cracking, and a very stable austenitic structure.
