Incoloy 800H has a restricted carbon content range of 0.05 to 0.10%, which is in the upper portion of that of Incoloy 800, and is annealed at 1149 to 1177oC (Incoloy 800 is annealed at 983 to 1038oC). These differences impart it to have higher stress rupture and creep properties than Incoloy 800.

Incoloy 800 Bolts and Incoloy 800HT Bolts can be easily welded and machined through standard shop fabrication practices. However, due to the high strength of the alloys, they require higher power process equipment than standard austenitic stainless steels. Meanwhile, Incoloy 800 fasteners are iron, nickel and chrome alloy fasteners. It has excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization at soaring temperatures. They remain very stable at extreme temperatures and retain their austenitic structure.

800H (NCF 800H, UNS N08810)/NAS 800T (UNS N08811) are nickel-iron-chromium alloys that provide high strength and excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization at high temperatures. High creep strength is attained through control over crystal grains¡ªvia high temperature heat treatment, together with fine control over carbon, titanium, and aluminum content. ASTM B564 Inconel 718 Threaded Flange Grade 718 Inconel Flange is the most common grade of the hardenable Inconel. This precipitation-hardened nickel-chromium alloy combines outstanding corrosion resistance and high strength at elevated temperatures. The alloy is an about 2x as strong as Inconel grade 625 having excellent creep-rupture strength at temperatures to 1300¡ãF (700¡ãC) and usable up to 1800¡ãF (982¡ãC). Inconel grade 718 is often used in gas turbines, rocket motors, spacecraft, nuclear reactors, pumps, and tooling.

They are used for high temperature service, where resistance to oxidation and carburisation are required. For optimum stress rupture properties, or for pressure vessel service above 815¡ãC, Incoloy 800H or Incoloy 800HT should be used.

The strength of 800H is achieved by controlled levels of carbon, aluminum and titanium along with a 2100¡ãF minimum anneal to achieve a grain size of ASTM 5 or coarser.

Nickel alloys are double certified (800H/HT) and also include two forms of properties. Incoloy 800H/HT alloy is designed for high temperature structural applications. The nickel content can make the alloy highly resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking and embrittlement by sigma phase precipitation. Ordinary corrosion resistance is very useful. Alloys 800H and 800HT have excellent creep and stress rupture properties in the solution annealed condition.

The higher strength results from deliberate control of the carbon, aluminum, and titanium contents in conjunction with a high-temperature anneal.

Due to the molybdenum and copper content, alloy 825 plate makes the alloy resistant to reducing agents and acids. Chromium provides oxidative resistance to conditions such as nitrates and oxidizing salts and nitric acid solutions. It offers excellent corrosion resistance through phosphoric and sulfuric acid and is generally the most cost-effective alloy for sulfuric acid service.
