It is widely used in offshore oil and gas exploration/production and in heat exchangers in petrochemical/chemical processing.

Higher chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content results in a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) > 40, providing superior pitting and crevice corrosion capabilities to austenitic and duplex stainless steels in virtually all corrosive media, and critical pitting temperature Above 50¡ãC .

The material has high strength values. The minimum yield strength is 450MPa and the minimum tensile strength is 620MPa, with 25% minimum elongation and 290HB Brinell hardness.

S32760 has very good resistance to localized corrosion and stress corrosion cracking and high mechanical strength.

At this temperature, duplex steel flanges over 300 degrees Celsius are still protected from embrittlement due to corrosion. Duct capability is also excellent at low temperatures. Fabrication is done only with tools assigned to stainless steel materials. Must be properly cleaned before use. This is done to protect the stainless steel from cross-contamination of the corroding metal.

Astm A790 Uns S31803 grade pipes and tubes can be cold-rolled to give them enhanced properties and good resistances in different systems.

DIN 933 technically ranges from M1. 6 to M52, whereas ISO 4017 ranges from M1. 6 to M64. Secondly, that’s it really, the DIN 933 and ISO 4017 standards are the exact same with the exception of M10, M12, M14 and M22.

Grade 2205 is the most widely used duplex stainless steel grade. Fittings of this grade finds applications due to both their excellent corrosion resistance as well as their high strength.

Duplex 2507 is usually used in Desalination Equipment, Chemical process pressure vessels, piping and heat exchangers and Marine Applications.

Compared with ferritic stainless steel and austenitic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel pipe has good welding performance. It is neither like the welding heat affected zone of ferritic stainless steel, because of the grain coarsening, the plastic toughness is greatly reduced, nor like austenitic stainless steel, it is more sensitive to welding hot cracks.

The yield strength of this material is almost two times that of the usually used austenitic stainless steel grade.

Super Duplex Steel UNS S32760 are dual phase austenitic-ferritic duplex fasteners manufactured from alloy containing chromium, nickel and molybdenum with restricted carbon content and minimum PREN42. Zeron washers have high strength, resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking, erosion and corrosion fatigue, crevice corrosion resistance.

A butt weld pipe fitting is designed to be welded on site at its end(s) to connect pipe(s) together and allow change in direction or pipe diameter, or branching or ending.

This fitting then becomes part of a system for transporting fluids (oil, gas, steam, chemicals, …) in a safe and efficient manner, over short or long distances.

The ductility and corrosion resistance of duplex steel fasteners are reminiscent of their austenitic microstructure. On the other hand, the toughness and hardness of these fasteners are inherited from the ferritic region.

The material is also resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking, to erosion corrosion, to corrosion fatigue, to general corrosion in acids. This alloy has good weldability and very high mechanical strength.

In S31803, about half of the ferrite grains transform into austenite grains (“islands”) as the material cools to room temperature. The result is a microstructure of approximately 50% austenite and 50% ferrite.
