Stainless Steel Duplex SAF 2205 Hex Bolts are used in machinery and construction and can be used with nuts or threaded holes. Compared to 317L stainless steel, duplex steel has excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy has excellent corrosion resistance to seawater and most concentrations of sulfuric acid. In addition, it is resistant to sulfide stress corrosion cracking (sour gas environments)

At this temperature, duplex steel flanges over 300 degrees Celsius are still protected from embrittlement due to corrosion. Duct capability is also excellent at low temperatures. Fabrication is done only with tools assigned to stainless steel materials. Must be properly cleaned before use. This is done to protect the stainless steel from cross-contamination of the corroding metal.

Duplex 2205 Tube may at times exhibit magnetic behavior because the microstructure of its alloy contains about 50% ferrite.

S32760 Heavy hex nuts are slightly larger and thicker than standard (finished) hex nuts. There are numerous grades and the heavy pattern is typically used for large diameter and high strength bolts.

Flange connects the pipe with various equipment and valves. Breakup flanges are added in the pipeline system if regular maintenance in required during plant operation.
A flanged joint is composed of three separate and independent although interrdlated components; the flanges, the gaskets, and the bolting; which are assembled by yet another influence, the fitter. Special controls are required in the selection and application of all there elements to attain a joint, which has acceptable leak tightness.
A flange is a protruded ridge, lip or rim, either external or internal, that serves to increase strength (as the flange of an iron beam such as an I-beam or a T-beam); for easy attachment/transfer of contact force with another object (as the flange on the end of a pipe, steam cylinder, etc., or on the lens mount of a camera); or for stabilizing and guiding the movements of a machine or its parts (as the inside flange of a rail car or tram wheel, which keep the wheels from running off the rails). Duplex stainless steel, alloy 2205 was designed as comprising 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum, and 5-6% nickel nitrogen. Alloy 2205 combines the desirable aspect of properties of both austenitic and ferritic grades.

Duplex plates have a two-phase or two-phase microstructure. The microstructure of the duplex steel S32205 foil consists of equal proportions of ferrite and austenite.

The standard duplex material consists of 22% chromium, 4.5% nickel, 3% molybdenum, manganese, silicon, nitrogen, phosphorus, carbon and sulfur. Duplex 2205 screws and other fasteners have minimum yield strengths up to 97ksi and minimum tensile strengths up to 131ksi. Duplex 2205 hex bolts are nearly twice as strong as austenitic grade steel bolts. They have higher mechanical properties, so 1.4462 alloy 2205 studs and other types of bolts can meet different specifications such as ASME SA 182, 240, 479, 789.

Duplex 2205 was tested under reverse bending stress at room temperature compared to SS316. The results show that Duplex 2205 has approximately twice the fatigue limit/yield strength.

Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) is a super duplex stainless steel with 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel designed for demanding applications which require exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, such as chemical process, petrochemical, and seawater equipment.

Duplex stainless steels are Fe-Ni-Cr alloys consisting of ferritic-austenitic microstructure at room temperature. These steels generally possess beneficial combinations of the austenitic and ferritic phases. Duplex stainless steels exhibit greater toughness and better weldability than ferritic stainless steel (Nilsson, 1992). They have higher strength and better corrosion resistance than austenitic stainless steel (Atamert and King, 1992). Their good engineering performance has led to an increasing number of applications, mainly in corrosive environments such as sour gas pipelines and chemical reaction vessels.
Duplex stainless steels combine characteristics of the austenitic and ferritic family of alloys to offer benefits from both with fewer downsides — often at a lower cost than other steel alloys.
Duplex stainless steels have a combination of two phases, ferrite and austenite in approximately equal measure. This allows them to benefit from the advantages of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, leading to increased strength, improved weldability, higher toughness and resistance to several types of corrosion.

Duplex stainless steels have a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite, the aim being to produce a 50/50 mix, although, in commercial alloys, the mix may be 40/60 respectively.

Duplex 2205 fasteners are made from cost-effective, long-lasting and corrosion-resistant steel. The grade of steel used to make fasteners can be ferritic, austenitic or dual phase steel. Duplex materials have the strength qualities of ferritic steels and the corrosion-resistant qualities of austenitic steels.

The duplex microstructure gives this grade high strength UNS S32750 a low coefficient of thermal expansion and higher heat conductivity than austenitic steels and is suitable for working temperatures up to 300¡ãC.

Seamless pipe is not as strong as Duplex SS 2205 welded pipe, but is very dimensionally accurate. Dimensional accuracy is useful in highly sensitive applications where measurement and calculation accuracy is required.

The mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and low temperature toughness of the ASTM A182 F53 Flanges is higher than that of ordinary duplex stainless steels.
