The primary difference between standard duplex grades and the Super Duplex Steel Flanges Material is that Super duplex has a higher content of both molybdenum and chromium their alloy.

The combination of high strength, corrosion resistance and moderate weldability has many benefits but also bring disadvantages and limitations. High strength is a disadvantage when forming and machining. The higher strength also means that the metal is less ductile than austenitic grades. This means that these steels are not good when the goods being produce require any degree of complex forming. ASTM A240 UNS S32750 sheet is a type of steel known as super duplex steel.

In comparison to SS316, Duplex 2205 has been tested under reverse bending stresses at room temperature. The results show that the fatigue limit/yield strength is about twice as high for Duplex 2205.

Its impact strength or hardness properties inherited from the ferritic side make 2507 stainless steel round bar suitable for structural applications including bridge construction and more.

2507 is used for Chemical process industries, heat exchangers, vessels, and piping, desalination plants, high pressure RO-plant and seawater piping, mechanical and structural components, high strength, corrosion-resistant parts.

Super Duplex has all the benefits of other duplex steels, specifically the strength benefits of their biphasic structural composition of equal parts austenitic and ferritic stainless steel. This microstructure makes all duplex steels around twice as strong as regular single structure ferritic or austenitic steels, but Super Duplex has a higher chromium and molybdenum content, giving it considerably increased resistance to corrosion than its counterparts.

2205 duplex pipe is not recommended to be used at a temperature above 572¡ãF. Due to the presence of higher chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen contents, 2205 duplex stainless steel tubes demonstrates superior corrosion resistant properties in comparison to the more conventionally used austenitic stainless steel grades 316 and 316L in most environments.

The 2205 was developed to provide excellent machinability. Control of composition and inclusion type improves chip formation and reduces tool wear, resulting in higher machining efficiency and lower tool costs.

Duplex stainless steel fasteners are made from alloys with high chromium content and low to moderate nickel content.
