ASTM A320 L7 Stud Bolts are designed for low temperature performance. These fasteners are commonly used in valves, flanges, fittings and pressure vessels. The ASTM specification recommends a minimum impact value of 20-ft-lbf -150F for ASTM A320 L7 studs.

Inconel600 is suitable for welding with the same material or other metals by any traditional welding process, such as tungsten electrode inert gas welding, plasma arc welding, manual sub-arc welding, metal inert gas shielded welding, molten arc inert gas shielded welding, and pulsed arc welding. Welding is the preferred solution. When using manual arc welding, it is recommended to use a shielding gas mixed with various components (Ar+He+H2+CO2).
Welding of Incoloy 825 must be carried out in the annealed condition and cleaned with a stainless steel wire brush to remove stains, dust and various markings. When welding the root of the weld, extreme care must be taken (Argon 99.99) to obtain the best quality of the root weld so that the weld does not produce oxides after the root has been welded. Color from the weld heat-affected zone should be removed with a stainless steel brush while the weld area is not cool.

It is almost the same as AISI 4130 chrome-molybdenum alloy steel, but with a slightly higher carbon content. Compared to AISI/ASTM 4130 alloy steel, AISI 4140 steel has a higher carbon content, which provides higher strength and heat treating capability, but also has limited weldability.

The ASTM A333 specification covers carbon steel pipes for low temperature applications. LTCS or Low Temperature Carbon Steel is an alloy covered under this specific specification. A333 carbon steel cryogenic tubing specified by ASTM has moderate tensile properties and good hardness, but low corrosion resistance. The corrosion resistance of the alloy can be improved by using certain surface treatments.
