Hastelloy tubing is suitable for applications in the chemical processing, pharmaceutical, agricultural, food, petrochemical and power industries. Hastelloy piping is often specified for highly corrosive industrial applications and is often used in processes where chloride is a component.

Alloy C276 Seamless Nickel Tube is a Nickel Molybdenum Chromium alloy with added tungsten for excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of harsh environments. The high molybdenum content makes this alloy particularly resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. The low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation during welding to maintain the corrosion resistance of the welded structure. Its typical applications: pollution control, chemical processing, pulp and paper production and waste disposal.

This nickel steel alloy has also been found to be exceptionally resistant to stress corrosion cracking in petrochemical applications. Matrix stiffening provided by the molybdenum content results in high strength in a solid-solution alloy having good fabrication characteristics. Although this nickel alloy is primarily noted for heat and oxidation resistance it also has good resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking, carburization, and excellent resistance to reducing or carburizing atmospheres. Two common conditions that often lead to early failure in high temperature alloys, carburization and nitriding, Hastelloy X resists.

Hastelloy C-22 has exceptional resistance to a wide variety of chemical process environments, including strong oxidizers such as ferric and cupric chlorides, hot contaminated media (organic and inorganic), chlorine, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, and seawater amd brine solutions.

These pipes are difficult to machine because they harden from machining. Alloy 400 welded pipe can be processed using conventional techniques.

Nickel based alloys are very useful materials for making high quality nickel alloy seamless pipes. This is one of the main reasons that it offers excellent corrosion resistance in both waterborne and high temperature applications and is very ductile. It can be electroplated and is easy to solder, which makes it suitable for industries where very high and low temperatures come into play.

Monel 400 has excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas medium.
