Inconel 718 is a nickel-chromium-based alloy that is commonly used in high-temperature applications such as aerospace and gas turbines. There are two main types of Inconel 718 plates available on the market: hot rolled and cold rolled plates.

Nickel Alloy 600 is a solid solution of its elements and cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. Cold working will result in increased strength. Heat treatment can remove any undesirable effects of cold work.

In terms of mechanical properties, the alloy 601 flange has a minimum tensile strength of 550MPa, a minimum yield strength of 205MPa and an elongation of 30%. The material is denser than ordinary stainless steel and has a melting point of 1411 degrees Celsius. Increased temperatures have prompted many of our customers to use superalloy Inconel 718 forged rings. Since Inconel uses nickel as its primary alloying agent, the use of Inconel 718 fasteners at elevated temperatures has no negative effect on the application or the equipment being used.
