Super Duplex stainless steel offers the same advantages as its Duplex counterpart. The main difference between the two is that Super Duplex has a higher chromium and molybdenum content, resulting in increased corrosion resistance.

Duplex steels are characterised by high chromium (19¨C28%) and molybdenum (up to 5%) and lower nickel contents than austenitic stainless steels. The most used duplex stainless steels are the 2205 (22% Chromium, 5% Nickel) and the 2507 (25% Chromium, 7% Nickel); 2507 is known as ¡°super duplex¡± due to its higher resistance to corrosion.

Alloy 2507 is a high strength duplex alloy. Super Duplex Plate is a dual ferritic and austenitic microstructured component designed with high concentrations of chromium, nickel and molybdenum. Super Duplex 2507 plate is used in systems where extra strength and enhanced corrosion resistance of different systems are required.

Duplex 2205 stainless steel (both ferritic and austenitic) is used extensively in applications that require good corrosion resistance and strength. This grade offers higher resistance to corrosion

The standard duplex material consists of 22% chromium, 4.5% nickel, 3% molybdenum, manganese, silicon, nitrogen, phosphorus, carbon and sulfur. Duplex 2205 screws and other fasteners have minimum yield strengths up to 97ksi and minimum tensile strengths up to 131ksi. Duplex 2205 hex bolts are nearly twice as strong as austenitic grade steel bolts. They have higher mechanical properties, so 1.4462 alloy 2205 studs and other types of bolts can meet different specifications such as ASME SA 182, 240, 479, 789.

ASTM A240 Type 2507 Duplex Sheet is an alloy used in applications with high strength and corrosion resistance. The composition of the duplex 2507 sheet is approximately 25% chromium, 7% nickel and 4% molybdenum. This composition makes it resistant to crevice corrosion and chloride pitting.

Flat and lock washers can be cut or stamped from sheet to customer specifications. Since 2205 combines high strength, excellent corrosion and stress corrosion cracking resistance with very good pitting corrosion resistance and low thermal expansion, this may be the right alloy for your project nuts, bolts, spacers and studs.

There are different pressure ratings for the flanges based on the system of measurement. Under the ANSI standard, the pressure classes range from class 150 through class 2500.

DIN 933 technically ranges from M1. 6 to M52, whereas ISO 4017 ranges from M1. 6 to M64. Secondly, that’s it really, the DIN 933 and ISO 4017 standards are the exact same with the exception of M10, M12, M14 and M22.

Duplex 2507 possesses excellent mechanical properties. Often a light gauge of 2507 material can be used to achieve the same design strength of a thicker nickel alloy.

ASTM A182 UNS S32750 Flanges is the most common super duplex grade that has an enhanced pitting and crevice corrosion resistance compared with the ordinary austenitic or duplex types.
