800H can resist corrosion of many corrosive media. Its high nickel content makes it resistant to stress corrosion cracking in aqueous corrosion conditions. The alloy has good corrosion resistance to nitric acid and organic acids, but limited corrosion resistance in sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid. All chrome molybdenum steel sheets are sedated and heat treated in accordance with ASTM A387, which also specifies minimum and maximum levels of the following elements in steel: Chemicals of Carbon, Manganese, Phosphorus, Sulfur, Silicon, Chromium, Molybdenum, Nickel, Vanadium requirements, columbium, boron, nitrogen, aluminum, titanium and zirconium. A387 boards must undergo product, chemical and tensile testing (documented in the MTC or material test certificate) – must meet specific requirements for tensile strength, yield strength and elongation.
