ASTM A182 Gr F1 Blind Flange is a solid disc used to block a pipe or create a stop. It is similar to an ordinary flange, with mounting holes around it, and the sealing ring is machined into a mating surface.

ASTM A182 Gr F9 flanges are typically designed for applications with high temperature requirements. Alloys used to produce flanges according to this specification include wrought or rolled alloys and several stainless steel grades.

Alloy 32750 is a super duplex stainless steel supplied in hot worked and solution annealed conditions. As a super duplex stainless steel, it combines the desirable aspects of austenitic and ferritic steels. Higher chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content results in a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) > 40, providing superior pitting and crevice corrosion capabilities to austenitic and duplex stainless steels in virtually all corrosive media, and critical pitting temperature over 50¡ãC.

The composition of A335 P91 material contains carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, nitrogen, nickel, aluminum, niobium, titanium and zirconium. There are two kinds of seamless pipes and welded pipes. Seamless pipe is drawn from a single raw material billet, while ASTM A335 Gr P91 Welded Pipe is welded from strip or sheet. Welding can be helical or longitudinal from one end to the other to produce the tube. The minimum yield strength of the pipe is 415MPa and the minimum tensile strength is 585MPa.

In addition to good corrosion resistance, the addition of chromium and molybdenum to the alloy enhances its ductility.

Although acceptable fouling levels are considered beneficial to the alloy, in moderate cases, fouling deposits on Astm A182 F9 flange surfaces can act as a barrier to excessive corrosion. When flanges are produced using specification ASTM A182, they work well at high temperatures, albeit in applications with high pressure.

The addition of chromium and molybdenum to a182 grade f9 enhances the corrosion resistance of the flange.

Weld Neck Flange is expensive because of its long neck and cost of people for contact WN flange with pipeline or fitting but is preferred for high-stress applications. The necks, or hubs, transmits stresses to the pipeline.

Each tube of the A335 shall be hydrostatically tested. In addition, each tube shall be inspected using non-destructive testing methods in accordance with prescribed practices.
