It is almost the same as AISI 4130 chrome-molybdenum alloy steel, but with a slightly higher carbon content. Compared to AISI/ASTM 4130 alloy steel, AISI 4140 steel has a higher carbon content, which provides higher strength and heat treating capability, but also has limited weldability.

Chrome molybdenum grades P11, P22, P91 and P92 are used in the power industry. Chromium molybdenum grades P5 and P9 are used in petrochemical refining processes. Chrome molybdenum forged fittings and flanges are available in grades F5, F9, F11, F22, F91, F92. 1.4529 (UNS N08926) has very high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in halide media and in acidic environments containing sulfur and hydrogen
It can effectively resist chloride ion stress corrosion, and also has good corrosion resistance and good stability in oxidizing and reducing media.
The mechanical properties are slightly better than 904L, and it can be used in the manufacture of pressure vessels from -196 to 400 ¡ãC.

ASTM A182 Gr F11 class 2 pipe flange has low thermal conductivity and moderately low tensile strength and also has many other properties like great quality, toughness and many other points.

Alloy steel is divided into two categories: high-alloy steel and low-alloy steel. Low alloy steel forged fittings, on the other hand, contain about 0.05 ¨C 0.25% carbon and up to 2.0% manganese.

The material can be heat treated to anneal and normalize in air, or quench and temper in polymer or oil. Alloy 4130 has a lower carbon content of 0.28% – 0.33% and slightly higher amounts of other elements. And the material is easy to process. 4140 low alloy steel has a range of 2. 375″ to 12.750″ OD with wall thicknesses ranging from 0.375″ to 1.5″. The composition of A335 P91 material contains carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, nitrogen, nickel, aluminum, niobium, titanium and zirconium. There are two kinds of seamless pipes and welded pipes. Seamless pipe is drawn from a single raw material billet, while ASTM A335 Gr P91 Welded Pipe is welded from strip or sheet. ASTM A182 F5 flanges are forged flanges made of chrome molybdenum low alloy steel called 5Cr-0.5Mo, UNS designation K41545. Widely used in oil refineries, chemical and petrochemical, power plant pipelines, heat exchangers, various pressure vessels and other pressure and high temperature services.

ASTM 182 is used for pressure systems, including flanges, fittings, and similar parts that conform to specified dimensions or dimensional standards such as ASME codes.

F5 A182 Pipe Flanges tends to have a fairly high electrical conductivity amongst other wrought alloy steels in the same category. It has a comparatively high base cost and high embodied energy. ASTM A182 is the Standard Specification for Forged Stainless Steel Pipe Flanges and Stainless Steel Forged Fittings.

ASTM A193 Grade B7 bolts are considered for applications up to 450¡ãC due to heat treated chrome molybdenum steel. B7 stud bolts are bolts with male threads and a hex head designed to be actuated by a wrench. It can be fully threaded or partially threaded and is supplied with a hex cap.

A193 B7 threaded rods are also known as hex bolts. It has threads on both ends and it is a relatively long rod.

When the F11 flange is heat treated, the alloy steel F22 flange is formed. These flanges have a tensile strength of 655 MPa and a yield strength of 517 MPa.

These are said to be specifications for alloy flanges for high pressure and service. The 3% carbon content of these flanges provides a lot of room for improved weldability, which also increases their overall strength.
