Alloy 20 (Alloy 20) is an iron-based austenitic alloy developed to resist sulfuric acid corrosion. It has excellent resistance to sulfuric acid corrosion; it has strong resistance to phosphoric acid, nitric acid and chloride environments, chloride stress corrosion, pitting corrosion and crack corrosion. Therefore, alloy 20 has the name of anti-corrosion alloy; it has a wide range of applications: such as: chemical, food, medicine, power production and plastics industries will use it. For resistance to pitting corrosion and chloride corrosion, stress corrosion cracking problems, etc., alloy 20 is often used.

Alloy steel is divided into two categories: high-alloy steel and low-alloy steel. Low alloy steel forged fittings, on the other hand, contain about 0.05 ¨C 0.25% carbon and up to 2.0% manganese.

The chromium content in the A335 p9 pipe makes it highly resistant to corrosion. Therefore, A335 p9 has excellent high temperature oxidation resistance. Due to the chemical composition of Molybdenum (Mo) and Chromium (Cr), A335 is often referred to as Chromium Molybdenum Tube. Molybdenum increases the strength of the steel as well as the elastic limit, wear resistance, impact quality and hardenability. Molybdenum increases resistance to softening, inhibits grain growth, and makes chromium steel less susceptible to embrittlement. Molybdenum is the most effective single additive for improving high temperature creep strength. It also enhances the corrosion resistance of the steel and inhibits pitting corrosion. A182 pipe flanges tend to have fairly high electrical conductivity among other wrought alloy steels in their class. It has a higher base cost and higher embodied energy.
