Super Duplex is composed of between 24% to 26% chromium, 6% to 8% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and 1.2% manganese, with the balance being iron. Super Duplex 25 Chrome has excellent resistance to chloride-induced pitting corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. It is suitable for service environments high in chlorides, such as seawater cooling, salt evaporation, and desalination. Its temperature range is typically listed as -50¡ã to 300¡ã C (-58¡ã to 572¡ã F); outside of this range, its performance characteristics degrade. It is also suitable for mild hydrogen sulfide, dilute reducing and organic acids, and moderate to high levels of oxidizing acids.
