These Hastelloy C276 contain a mixture of molybdenum, nickel and chromium species. Like other nickel alloys, it is ductile, easy to form and weld, and has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking (a form of easily degradable austenitic stainless steel) in chloride-containing solutions. Due to its high chromium and molybdenum content, it is resistant to oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids and exhibits excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in the presence of chlorides and other halides.
