Duplex 2205 has higher resistance to crevice and erosion corrosion than sus316L austenitic stainless grades.

ASTM A789 A789M Covers Grades of nominal wall thickness, stainless steel tubing for services requiring general corrosion resistance, with particular emphasis on resistance to stress corrosion cracking. A182 F53 material displays excellent corrosion resistance.

2205 has excellent corrosion properties, and it is well-suited to environments containing chlorides and hydrogen sulphide, for use in oil and gas extraction from sour wells, in refineries and in process solutions contaminated with chlorides.

A182 F51 Duplex stainless steel composed of 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy. It has high strength, good impact toughness and good overall and local stress corrosion resistance.

2507 Duplex is highly resistant to uniform corrosion by organic acids such as formic and acetic acid.

Super Duplex 2507 stud bolts (EN 1.4410) are made of a stainless steel alloy containing 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. Duplex 2507 is known for its high strength and excellent localized corrosion resistance to chloride.

Duplex stainless steel UNS S31803 Nuts are available in two phase, 5% to 6% nickel alloy steel, ferritic, 3% molybdenum, austenitic 22% chromium.

S32760 has very good resistance to localized corrosion and stress corrosion cracking and high mechanical strength.

2205 is also more formable under pressure than other ferritic grades. The greater toughness of this grade also outweighs most of its concerns.

2205 is the most widely used duplex (ferritic/austenitic) grade of stainless steel. It is used due to its excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. Over the years, many steel suppliers have made improvements to the standard duplex S31803 composition, and the resulting restricted composition range was recognized as UNS S32205 in 1996.
