ASTM B564 UNS N08825?offers good mechanical properties at room temperature as well as at high temperatures.

The chromium and nickel contents of this alloy provide excellent oxidation resistance at low concentrations of oxidizing and reducing sulfur, good resistance to carburization and sulfidation. The alloy also has reasonable resistance to nitriding in cracked ammonia, but not as much as Inconel 600.

ASTM B564 UNS N08825 Flange Incoloy 825 Flanges are one such type of flanges that have outstanding resistance to oxidizing as well as reducing acids. They are fabricated to improve their resistance to corrosion and are clean to weld. They are resistant to chloride pitting and sensitization. Incoloy 800/800H/800HT are solid solution nickel chromium iron alloys with small additions of aluminium and titanium to improve corrosion and oxidation resistance.

Alloy 925 is a nickel-based alloy with major additions of iron and chromium, but also molybdenum, copper, titanium, and aluminum. The combination of high strength and corrosion resistance makes it suitable for applications such as valves, hangers, packers and pipes in sour gas environments. It can also be used for fasteners and pump shafts in marine environments.

The combination of nickel and chromium provides protection in both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres. The high nickel content also provides resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking. Resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion is also excellent. The alloy is produced by a vacuum remelting process, but can be supplied using an air melting single-consumer electrode (VAR or ESR) practice if material specifications permit.

Typical applications for the alloy include ethylene pyrolysis, hydrocarbon cracking, cracking furnaces for vinyl chloride, diphenol and acetic acid. The alloy is also used for valves, fittings and other components exposed to corrosive attack from 1100 to 1800 deg F.

The principle di?erence between alloys 800H and 800HT is the restricted aluminum and titanium content in 800HT, which results in higher creep and stress rupture properties.

For hydrofluoric acid applications, Monel bolts are probably the most corrosion resistant of all commonly used specialty alloys.

The nickel content of Alloy 825 makes it resistant to chloride stress-corrosion cracking, and combined with molybdenum and copper, provides substantially improved corrosion resistance in reducing environments when compared to conventional austenitic stainless steels.
