Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy with excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and high strength at elevated temperatures. Due to its high nickel content, Inconel 600 is extremely resistant to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking. Age hardening is not required as Inconel 600 is hardened and strengthened by cold work only. The Inconel 600 can operate in temperatures as low as 700¡ãF (370¡ãC).

Nickel 200 is a solid solution strengthened metal. Nickel 200 Bar Stock contains 99.6% wrought nickel by weight and is considered commercially pure nickel. Inconel 718 is a precipitation hardening nickel-chromium alloy containing large amounts of iron, niobium and molybdenum, and small amounts of aluminum and titanium. 718 material maintains high strength and good ductility at temperatures up to 1300¡ãF (704¡ãC). Compared with other precipitation hardening nickel alloys, this alloy has relatively good weldability, formability and excellent low temperature properties. The alloy’s slow precipitation hardening reaction makes it easy to weld without hardening or cracking. Inconel? Alloy 718 is non-magnetic. It maintains good corrosion and oxidation resistance for applications requiring high creep and stress-rupture resistance at temperatures up to 1300¡ãF (704¡ãC) and oxidation resistance up to 1800¡ãF (982¡ãC) parts.
