Nickel Alloy 400 and Monel 400, also known as UNS N04400, is a ductile nickel-copper-based alloy consisting primarily of two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. Nickel Alloy 400 is known for its resistance to a variety of corrosive conditions, including alkalis (or acids), salt water, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Since Monel 400 or Alloy 400 is a cold worked metal, this alloy has high hardness, stiffness and strength. By cold working ASTM B164 UNS N04400 bar stock, the alloy is subjected to higher levels of mechanical stress, which in turn causes changes in the alloy’s microstructure.

Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy with excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and high strength at elevated temperatures. Due to its high nickel content, Inconel 600 is extremely resistant to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking. Age hardening is not required as Inconel 600 is hardened and strengthened by cold work only. The Inconel 600 can operate in temperatures as low as 700¡ãF (370¡ãC).

Inconel 600 round bar is a nickel-based alloy with benign carburization and excellent corrosion resistance at high temperatures. Inconel 600 round bars are effective against drying Cl2 and many other different gases at mild and high temperatures. Alloy 600 bar is a nickel-chromium alloy with good oxidation resistance and resistance to chloride pressure decomposition cracking, high cleanliness water corrosion and acid oxidation at elevated temperatures.

Nickel 200 is a solid solution strengthened metal. Nickel 200 Bar Stock contains 99.6% wrought nickel by weight and is considered commercially pure nickel. DIN 2.4066 Bar has good mechanical and physical properties. For example, ASTM B160 N02200 has excellent resistance to many corrosive compounds as well as corrosive environments. Meanwhile, Nickel 200 is a solid solution strengthened wrought alloy that can be designed as round bars and rods. These two components are used interchangeably and can be distinguished from certain key functions.

Inconel 718 (also known as UNS N07718) is a precipitation hardening nickel superalloy with excellent corrosion resistance and strength as well as high weldability.

Cupronickel is highly resistant to corrosion by salt water, and is therefore used for piping, heat exchangers and condensers in seawater systems, as well as for marine hardware. It is sometimes used for the propellers, propeller shafts, and hulls of high-quality boats.

Incoloy 800 is a nickel, iron and chromium based alloy. Incoloy 800 bar is not only known for its good strength, but also has excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization when exposed to high temperatures. Two additional alloys can be derived from Incoloy 800. They are Incoloy 800H and Incoloy 800HT.

Alloy 718, commonly referred to as Inconel 718, is precipitation hardened to provide maximum strength and high creep stress rupture strength. Alloys can be supplied in the annealed condition to improve machinability, followed by appropriate heat treatment.

Hastelloy UNS N10276 cold drawn bar has excellent resistance in a variety of chemical process environments. For example, Hastelloy C276 UNS N10276 square bar is resistant to corrosion in a variety of media, including strong oxidants (such as ferric chloride and cupric chloride), hot fouling media (may be organic or inorganic), chlorine, acetic anhydride , formic acid and acetic acid, as well as good tolerance to seawater and saline solutions.

However, like most austenitic stainless steel alloys, UNS N08811 bright bar has proven to be a useful asset, especially in environments with high levels of corrosive media.

INCONEL Alloy 718 (UNS N07718/W.Nr. 2.4668 ) is a high strength, high temperature and corrosion resistant nickel-chromium alloy. It is suitable for use in low temperatures and in air up to 1300 F. The alloy is easy to work and can be age hardened.
