The chemical balance allows the alloy to exhibit excellent resistance to carburization, oxidation and nitriding atmospheres. 800HT will not become embrittled even after long periods of usage in the 1200-1600 deg F range where many stainless steels become brittle. Incoloy 800 bolts are best suited for applications that require stable construction and good strength over prolonged exposure to high temperatures. All of this is the same except for the higher carbon content in the 800H alloy and the addition of about 1.20% aluminum and titanium to the 800HT. Although the material has good tensile strength at moderately high temperatures, the use of Incoloy 800 round bar at elevated temperatures results in a reduction in its tensile strength. However, like most austenitic stainless steel alloys, UNS N08811 bright bar has proven to be a useful asset, especially in environments with high levels of corrosive media.

Alloy 825 (UNS N08825) is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper and titanium. It was developed to provide exceptional resistance to numerous corrosive environments, both oxidizing and reducing.

Incoloy 800HT is further modified with titanium and aluminium combined levels (0.85-1.20%) to ensure optimum high temperature performance. Nickel alloys are double certified (800H/HT) and combine the properties of both forms.

Incoloy 825 is a nickel-based alloy generally similar to Alloy 20 in water corrosion. It has useful resistance to boiling sulfuric acid up to 40% strength, 60% strength at 176¡ãF, and 150¡ãF at all concentrations.

Nickel-based alloys are very useful materials for making high-quality tubular products. One of the key reasons is their excellent corrosion resistance in both waterborne and high temperature applications.

800H can not be corroded in many kinds of media. Its higher nickel content made it have good stress corrosion resistance cracking properties in the water corrosion condition. High chromium content made it better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion cracking. This alloy can resist nitric acid and organic acid, but it is not so fine in the sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid.
800H have good corrosion resistance to both oxidation and non-oxidizing salt, but maybe a little pitting in halide, and also excellent properties in the mixture of water, smoke, steam, air and carbon dioxide.

The chromium and nickel contents of this alloy provide excellent oxidation resistance at low concentrations of oxidizing and reducing sulfur, good resistance to carburization and sulfidation. The alloy also has reasonable resistance to nitriding in cracked ammonia, but not as much as Inconel 600.

Inconel 825 fasteners have excellent resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids in addition to general corrosion. These Incoloy 825 fasteners also resist stress-related corrosion cracking, localized corrosion such as pitting and crevice corrosion. Incoloy 825 is particularly resistant to acids such as sulfuric and phosphoric acid. Austenitic stabilizing elements such as nickel, one of the main alloying agents for nickel alloy 825 hex bolts, remain unchanged even in high temperature environments. Since the structure remains unchanged, the DIN 2.4858 studs are less likely to deform.
