AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

UNS N08367 also commonly referred to as alloy AL6XN is a low carbon, high purity, nitrogen-bearing “super-austenitic” nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.

UNS S31254 is an alloy material with anti-corrosion effect, its density is 8.0g/cm3, and the melting point is 1320-1390¡æ. High molybdenum content and high chromium and nitrogen content make UNSS31254 extremely good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. The addition of copper improves corrosion resistance in certain acids. In addition, UNSS31254 has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking due to its high nickel content and high chromium and molybdenum content.

316 / 316L Stainless Hex Socket Head Bolts are used in applications requiring high strength, toughness and machinability along with improved corrosion resistance. The alloy contains a higher percentage of molybdenum and nickel than grade 304 stainless steel, improving corrosion resistance, making it ideal for applications in corrosive environments. 316L stainless steel has a higher carbon content than 316 stainless steel, reducing its weldability.

Austenitic stainless steel alloy 316 / 316L is a molybdenum-bearing grade. The high nickel and molybdenum content in these pipes offer better overall corrosion resistant properties compared to 304 grade SS. This resistance is particularly useful regarding pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. Moreover, 316 / 316L stainless steel tubes and pipes demonstrate exceptional high temperature tensile, creep, and stress-rupture strengths. Formability and weldability is also excellent. Unlike grade 316, 316L pipes are immune from sensitization, due to lower carbon content. Thus, it is commonly used in heavy gauge welded components.

Steel pipes can be disintegrated on the basis of its application. Stainless Steel 904L bolt is a member of the alloy steel family, which conservatively possess 10 per cent to 30 per cent of chromium element. This element offers extended resistance towards heat and corrosive condition, being low by the proportion of carbon. Exclusive elements like sulphur, aluminium, and titanium work as great support for 904L Stainless Steel Fasteners¡¯ strength.

431 is a high chromium, low nickel, high hardenability martensitic stainless steel with high strength and good corrosion resistance. Compared to other 400 stainless grades, 431 stainless steel is designed to improve corrosion resistance and toughness, especially in quench hardened stainless steel. The 431 will perform well in marine environments as well as in aerospace applications such as aircraft fasteners and accessories. This alloy has great impact strength at high hardness levels.

The addition of copper to this grade gives it better corrosion resistance than conventional chromium-nickel stainless steels, especially against sulfuric, phosphoric and acetic acids. However, the use of hydrochloric acid is limited.

For 304 stainless steel tube heat resistance, it has good oxidation resistance in intermittent use at 8700C and continuous use at 9250C. Continuous use of 304 in the 425-8600C range is not recommended if subsequent water corrosion resistance is important. Grade 304L is more resistant to carbide precipitation and can be heated to the above temperature range.

316 and 316L steel plates and tubes have common properties and are often double certified, which confirms that both have properties and compositions consistent with both steel types.
