AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

The SA240 309 plate resists oxidation up to 1900°F (1038°C) under non-cyclic conditions. Frequent thermal cycling reduces oxidation resistance to approximately 1850°F (1010°C).

Inconel 600 is a unique nickel-chromium alloy that is known for its oxidation resistance at higher temperatures. It is highly versatile and can be used in everything from cryogenics to applications that present elevated temperatures up to 2000¡ãF (1093¡ãC).

The austenitic stainless steel 6Mo was developed on the basis of alloy 904l/1.4539. However, the molybdenum content at 6Mo is increased to 6.5%. 6Mo has excellent general corrosion resistance and improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. Resistance to stress corrosion cracking is also improved. It is often referred to as super austenitic stainless steel.

A flange is a ring of steel (forged, cut from plate, or rolled) designed to connect sections of pipe, or to join pipe to a pressure vessel, valve, pump or other integral flanged assembly.
