A182 is a rolled or forged alloy flange specification for high pressure services and systems. We offer F11 alloy steel flanges with carbon content up to 3%, which gives flanges room to enhance their weldability and formability, while also increasing their overall strength.

A flange is a ring of steel (forged, cut from plate, or rolled) designed to connect sections of pipe, or to join pipe to a pressure vessel, valve, pump or other integral flanged assembly. Flanges are joined to each other by bolts, and to the piping system by welding or threading (or loose when stub ends are used). SAE 304 stainless steel is the most common stainless steel. The steel contains both chromium (between 18% and 20%) and nickel (between 8% and 10.5%)[1] metals as the main non-iron constituents. It is an austenitic stainless steel. It is less electrically and thermally conductive than carbon steel. It is magnetic, but less magnetic than steel. It has a higher corrosion resistance than regular steel and is widely used because of the ease in which it is formed into various shapes.[1]

ASTM A269 Alloy 254 Seamless Pipe Material is a very high end austenitic stainless steel.

Because they are produced according to specification ASTM A182, they need to meet certain requirements, such as yield and tensile strength properties. Other mechanical properties required for Sa182 F22 threaded flanges include Brinell hardness and elongation equivalents. In order to improve the properties of the alloy, these parts need to undergo a predetermined heat treatment process. These prerequisites include the type of heat treatment used on the Astm A182 F22 alloy steel flange and the temperature at which it will be performed. 316L steel is more susceptible to gaining some degree of magnetism.
