It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

The flange is second most used joining method after selding. Flanges are used when joints need dismantling. It provides flexibility for maintenance. For 304 stainless steel tube heat resistance, it has good oxidation resistance in intermittent use at 8700C and continuous use at 9250C. Continuous use of 304 in the 425-8600C range is not recommended if subsequent water corrosion resistance is important. Grade 304L is more resistant to carbide precipitation and can be heated to the above temperature range.

1.4529 (UNS N08926) has very high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in halide media and in acidic environments containing sulfur and hydrogen
It can effectively resist chloride ion stress corrosion, and also has good corrosion resistance and good stability in oxidizing and reducing media.
The mechanical properties are slightly better than 904L, and it can be used in the manufacture of pressure vessels from -196 to 400 ¡ãC.

Since 254S MO stainless steel pipe is a high alloy material, the manufacturing process is quite complicated. Generally speaking, people can only rely on traditional processes to manufacture this special stainless steel pipe, such as seamless, casting, forging, rolling, etc.

The molybdenum content increases corrosion resistance, improves resistance to pitting in chloride ion solutions, and increases strength at high temperatures.

The fusion welding properties of stainless steel 304 are excellent with or without fillers. The recommended filler rod and electrode for use with 304 stainless steel is grade 308 stainless steel. For 304L, the recommended packing is 308L. Heavy welded sections may require post weld annealing. The 304L does not require this step. If post weld heat treatment is not possible, grade 321 may be used.
