This provides greatly enhanced resistance to sulfuric acid. It also has a high chromium content, to maximize its resistance to oxidizing chemicals and process streams contaminated with ferric ions and dissolved oxygen.

HASTELLOY(r) B-2 is a wrought nickel-molybdenum alloy that can be used in the ¡®as welded¡¯ condition.

Hastelloy C276 alloy is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium wrought alloy that is considered a “multifunctional corrosion-resistant alloy”. Hastelloy C276 alloy has excellent corrosion resistance to both oxidizing and reducing media and excellent resistance to localized corrosion attack. The material also contains cobalt, tungsten, iron, silicon, manganese, carbon and vanadium in its composition. Due to this special combination, C276 Hastelloy bolts are also very resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion.

Hastelloy C22 fasteners are a general-purpose grade composed of chromium, nickel, molybdenum and tungsten alloys. These designs are designed to increase resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking (SSC) and crevice corrosion cracking. Alloy C-22 has excellent resistance to a variety of chemical process environments, including strong oxidizing agents such as ferric and cupric chlorides, chlorine, hot fouling solutions (organic and inorganic), formic and acetic acid, acetic anhydride, and seawater and Brine solution. C-22 alloy resists the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat affected zone and is therefore suitable for most chemical process applications in as-welded conditions.

Hastelloy C276 alloy, UNS N10276, 2.4819, is the most widely used and versatile corrosion resistant nickel alloy.

These flanges demonstrate outstanding toughness and hardness. Thus it exhibits superior ductility after prolonged exposure at a temperature of 650, 760, 870 degree C.

The flange is second most used joining method after selding. Flanges are used when joints need dismantling. It provides flexibility for maintenance. Hastelloy C-4 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with outstanding high temperature stability. It has high ductility and corrosion resistance. It’s high temperature resistance up to 1900 ¡ãF (1038 ¡ãC) makes it suitable for most chemical process application in the “as” welded condition.
Like other nickel alloys, it is ductile, easy to form and weld, and possesses exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing solutions (a form of degradation to
which the austenitic stainless steels are prone). With its high chromium and molybdenum
contents, it is able to withstand both oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids, and is resistant to
pitting and crevice attack in the presence of chlorides and other halides.

The low carbon content in the 2.4819 alloy C276 tube minimizes carbide precipitation. Carbide precipitation is a phenomenon that occurs during welding of various alloy grades.

Each of them have structural differences. These flanges are made up of a nickel, chromium, molybdenum alloy that has 50% nickel 14% chromium, 15% molybdenum and carbon, manganese, silicon, sulfur, cobalt, iron and phosphorus in the composition.

Nickel alloys are alloys with nickel as principal element. Complete solid solubility exists between nickel and copper. Wide solubility ranges between iron, chromium, and nickel make possible many alloy combinations.Steel plates are often used for structural and construcation applications, pressure vessels, marine and off shore equipment, and military applications. C22 nickel alloy fasteners offer better overall corrosion resistance than its sister alloy Hastelloy C-276, and more specifically, it offers better protection when used in certain saturated wet chlorine environments. Additionally, its high chromium content provides C22 fasteners with better resistance to oxidative media than C276. This makes it excellent resistance to chloride-induced pitting, although in most cases C-276 fasteners are a more cost-effective option due to their availability, especially in sizes smaller than 1/ 2″ case.

Although Alloy C276 plate has a higher rate of work hardening compared to its austenitic counterpart, in-process annealing may be required if nickel alloy C276 plate is to be work hardened to a higher degree. Solution annealing may be required if the deformation of the nickel C276 strip exceeds 15%.

The heat-affected weld zones have reduced precipitation of carbides and other phases to ensure uniform corrosion resistance.

In Hastelloy C276 hex bolts, the chromium content is increased to about 21% and the molybdenum content is reduced to about 13%. Hastelloy C-2000 Fastener, also known by many as Alloy C-2000, is a versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion. The C-2000 fastener (UNS N06200) is unique among other Hastelloy alloys with approximately 1.6% copper added to its chemical composition. These properties make them ideal for applications such as heat exchangers and industrial reactors. Alloy B2 should not be used at temperatures between 1000¡ãF and 1600¡ãF as the alloy forms secondary phases that could decrease the ductility of the material.
