It is able to withstand a wide range of oxidizing and non-oxidizing chemicals, and exhibits outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice attack in the presence of chlorides and other halides.

Hastelloy B-3 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to pitting, corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking plus, thermal stability superior to that of alloy B-2. In addition, this nickel steel alloy has great resistance to knife-line and heat¨Caffected zone attack.

Hastelloy G-30 is an improved version of nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum-copper alloy G-3. With higher chromium, added cobalt and tungsten, the G-30 shows superior corrosion resistance over most other nickel and iron based alloys in commercial phosphoric acids as well as complex environments containing highly oxidizing acids. The resistance of the alloy to the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the heat-affected zone makes it suitable for use in most chemical process applications in the as-welded condition.

Hastelloy B2 fasteners are primarily used for excellent resistance to reducing environments such as hydrogen chloride gas, sulfuric acid, acetic acid and phosphoric acid. Like other Hastelloys, B2 fasteners can be used in the as-welded condition because they resist the formation of grain boundary carbide deposits in the weld heat-affected zone. Due to reduced ductility, B2 fasteners are not recommended for use between 1000¡ãF and 1600¡ãF.
