Alloy B (UNS N10001) was developed to resist hydrochloric acid. Hastelloy B2 has replaced it. Alloy B3 (UNS N10675) is a newer variant with higher thermal stability. These alloy B2 bolts are a wrought nickel molybdenum alloy that can be used in the as-welded condition. It is highly resistant to hydrochloric acid of all concentrations and temperatures. Known as UNS N10665 bolts, these bolts are also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and pitting.

Hastelloy C276 is an extremely versatile material that has been used in a variety of harsh environments. It exhibits corrosion resistance to chloride-containing media, organic acids, oxidizing media, reducing acids, seawater and brine, and sulphur-containing flue gas. Hastelloy C276 replaces Alloy C (UNS N10002), which has slightly lower chromium and molybdenum contents. The high nickel, molybdenum and tungsten contents make them expensive compared to austenitic stainless steels. It is by far the most popular super alloy.

Hastelloy X fasteners, also known as UNS N06002 fasteners, have excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature strength. It is very resistant to stress corrosion cracking but has excellent ductility when subjected to 16,00 hours of torture at temperatures up to 1,600F. It is also suitable for furnaces, heaters and many high temperature applications because it is weldable, heat treatable and relatively easy to machine. Hastelloy C276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium superalloy with an addition of tungsten designed to have excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of severe environments.Alloy C-276 is one of the most universally corrosion resistant alloys available today. It is used in a variety of environments ranging from moderately oxidizing to strong reducing conditions. Alloy C-276 has exceptional resistance to sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, formic acid, acetic acid, chlorides, solvents, wet chloride gas, hypochlorite and chlorine solutions.

Alloy B2 is a highly resistant material to most organic and inorganic acids. It is a reduction resistant material.

Alloy C276 Forged Flange Hastelloy C276 Flanges are made up of the nickel chromium molybdenum alloy that is called hastelloy. The composition includes 50.99% nickel, 14.5% chromium, 15% molybdenum and carbon, manganese, silicon, sulfur, cobalt, iron and phosphorus in it. The Hastelloy C276 Flanges have high melting point of 1370 degrees Celsius. This high melting point allows for higher operating temperatures of the flanges. The material also has 790MPa minimum tensile strength and 355MPa minimum yield strength.

Alloy B2 (UNS N10665 / W.Nr. 2.4617) is a solid solution strengthened, nickel-molybdenum alloy, typically used in extreme reducing conditions.

Machining of Hastelloy UNS N10276 polished plates is best done in the annealed condition. Since this particular alloy grade is prone to work hardening, only low cutting speeds are required.
