AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

Grade 316 pipe bend is relatively easy to machine, although more difficult than carbon steel. More power is required to machine grade 316. Cutting speed should be lower, the feed higher, tooling and equipment heavier.

Type 304 is slightly less strong than 302 due to its lower carbon content. Type 304 is widely used in welding applications because the low carbon allows some exposure to carbide precipitation in the 800¡ãF – 1500¡ãF range without the need for post annealing operations.

Grade F22 is a low alloy steel grade with a chromium content between 2% and 2.5%. The content of chromium and molybdenum is twice that of F11 grade. However, due to the maximum content of all alloying elements up to 5%, it is classified as a low alloy steel grade. As a low alloy steel grade, ASTM A182 F22 flanges outperform carbon steel, especially in applications involving high temperatures.

S32750 (2507) is a duplex stainless steel that combines many of the excellent properties of ferritic and austenitic steels. Due to its high chromium and molybdenum content, it exhibits excellent resistance to pitting, crevice and uniform corrosion. The two-phase microstructure ensures that the steel has high resistance to stress corrosion cracking and high mechanical strength. In addition, it also has the characteristics of strong resistance to chloride pitting, high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion coefficient.

904L grade stainless steel is unlike any other steel. Due to its extra amounts of chromium, molybdenum, nickel and copper, 904L steel features superior resistance to corrosion, rust and acids.

The nickel content in stainless steel UNS S30400 blind flanges prevents equipment corrosion from the use of acidic solutions, including acetic acid and phosphoric acid, which is a reducing acid.

Stainless steel 304 bolts are made from a basic austenitic stainless steel material with a composition of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Meanwhile, Type 304/18-8 stainless steel is highly resistant to rust and corrosion, and may be slightly magnetic. For chemical, saltwater or coastal environments, 316 stainless steel is highly recommended.
