347 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel with excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion when exposed to chromium carbide precipitation temperatures ranging from 800 to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. Alloy 347 with tantalum – tantalum (known as niobium) has good mechanical properties at high temperatures.

Excellent oxidation resistance under mild cycling conditions at 2000¡ãF is characteristic of 310. Due to its high chromium and moderate nickel content, 310 has good resistance to sulfidation and other forms of hot corrosion. 310 is widely used in moderate carburizing atmospheres, such as petrochemical environments.
