Duplex steel UNS S31803 round bar is widely used for ferritic and austenitic duplex stainless steel bars.

UNS31803 has been supplemented by S32205 (F60) which dual conforms to S31803 but has a higher minimum N, MO, NI and Cr which guarantees a better corrosion resistance.

2205 fasteners are widely used in applications requiring good corrosion resistance and strength. Has excellent corrosion resistance; much higher than other grades. Zeron 100?contains 25% chromium and 7% nickel and 3.6% molybdenum along with copper and tungsten additions. Zeron 100 has a 50¨C50 austenitic¨Cferritic structure. 2205 has good solderability. The motivation for welding dual-phase steels is to maintain the corrosion resistance, toughness and strength of the base metal in the weld metal and heat affected zone.

Stub ends are used with lap flanges. Metline is an ISO certified, PED approved duplex 2205 stub end manufacturer and supplier with a manufacturing base in India. We can supply both long and short ends (collars) with test certificate according to EN10204 3.1.

Duplex 2205 fasteners are made from standard duplex materials. The material consists of carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum, 4.5% nickel and nitrogen.

The high chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content of 2205 provides better corrosion resistance than common stainless steels such as 316L and 317L in most environments.

Alloy 2205 duplex stainless steel plate has better pitting and crevice corrosion resistance than 316L or 317L austenitic stainless steel in almost all corrosive media.

UNS S32205 Hex Bolts (also known as S31803) are made of high grade duplex 2205 stainless steel. Because this material is composed of at least 22% chromium, 6% nickel, and 3% molybdenum, it can withstand some of the harsh environmental conditions that other metals cannot, such as corrosion, cracking, erosion, pitting, and more. Stainless Duplex 2205 Hex Bolts also provide twice the mechanical strength compared to standard stainless steel.

The chemical composition of 2205 Duplex Stainless Pipe consists of the elements being used in the following content i.e. – 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum and about 5 to 6% nickel. Duplex 2507 possesses excellent mechanical properties. Often a light gauge of 2507 material can be used to achieve the same design strength of a thicker nickel alloy.

Duplex stainless is a mixed microstructure of austenitic and ferrite (50/50) which has improved strength over ferritic and austenitic steel grades with similar corrosion resistance qualities.

Duplex alloys prove themselves useful in applications where ordinary steel grades are susceptible to failure. The microstructure of the Duplex Pipe Material partially consists of both austenite and ferrite regions.
