904L Stainless is the most common of the ¡°4% Molybdenum¡± alloys. It was designed to be an upgrade to 316L and Alloy 20 without incurring the expense of Alloy C276. 904L Stainless has been surpassed in popularity by the ¡°6% Molybdenum¡± alloys such as AL6XN?. Its availability in round bar is limited to metric sizes in 5mm increments. Consequently, inch-size diameter-headed bolts are relatively expensive to manufacture.

Alloy 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy used in applications requiring corrosion and heat resistance. This alloy has excellent mechanical properties and exhibits an ideal combination of high strength and good machinability over a wide temperature range.

It was developed for enhanced creep resistance and for higher strength at temperatures above 1000¡ãF (537¡ãC).

The heat treatment process in which the steel is heated to an appropriate temperature (above or below Ac 1 ), kept for a certain period of time, and then slowly cooled to obtain a structure close to the equilibrium state is called annealing.

The chemical composition specifications stated in the norm must be met by the steel Super Duplex Plate. The content, in this case Thick Duplex Alloy 2507 Cold Rolled Sheet, must also meet the required mechanical properties.

Hastelloy B2 fasteners are primarily used for excellent resistance to reducing environments such as hydrogen chloride gas, sulfuric acid, acetic acid and phosphoric acid. Like other Hastelloys, B2 fasteners can be used in the as-welded condition because they resist the formation of grain boundary carbide deposits in the weld heat-affected zone. Due to reduced ductility, B2 fasteners are not recommended for use between 1000¡ãF and 1600¡ãF.

Both materials remain available, subject to commercial considerations, and certain specifications which restrict the service temperature of some grades of INCOLOY alloy 800H.

Hastelloy C276 alloy is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium wrought alloy that is considered a “multifunctional corrosion-resistant alloy”. Hastelloy C276 alloy has excellent corrosion resistance to both oxidizing and reducing media and excellent resistance to localized corrosion attack. The material also contains cobalt, tungsten, iron, silicon, manganese, carbon and vanadium in its composition. Due to this special combination, C276 Hastelloy bolts are also very resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion.

Since the other materials are less than 1% of the composition, these are called the carbon steels.carbon steel ASTM A105 Flange are made up of carbon steel or mild steel material. The material composition can have carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and iron in the composition.

Best known for its corrosion resistance to reducing media and seawater, Monel 400 is also tougher in oxidizing environments than copper alloys. Also known as alloy 400, Monel 400 flanges are also utilized in high temperature, caustic and salt solution applications.

Additionally, Duplex 2205 is the most widely used duplex grade on the market. Duplex 2205 alloy is a nitrogen-enhanced duplex stainless steel alloy. The effect of nitrogen is to significantly increase the corrosion resistance of the alloy; especially in the as-welded condition.

Hastelloy C276 Flanges Hastelloy C276 Flanges are made up of the nickel chromium molybdenum alloy that is called hastelloy. The composition includes 50.99% nickel, 14.5% chromium, 15% molybdenum and carbon, manganese, silicon, sulfur, cobalt, iron and phosphorus in it. The Hastelloy C276 Flanges have high melting point of 1370 degrees Celsius. This high melting point allows for higher operating temperatures of the flanges. The material also has 790MPa minimum tensile strength and 355MPa minimum yield strength.
