AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

S31803 is the Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation for the original duplex stainless steel. The UNS system was created by multiple trade groups in the 1970s to reduce confusion when the same alloy was called different things, and vice versa. Each metal is represented by a letter followed by five numbers, where the letter represents the metal series, i.e. S for stainless steel.

For paper mill applications requiring lower alloy grades that do not have sufficient corrosion resistance. Based on a 22% chromium content, they have a combined austenitic:ferritic microstructure that provides greater strength, corrosion resistance and cost-effectiveness.

The UNS S31803 (ASTM F51) specification has been largely superseded by UNS S32205 (1.4462, ASTM F60). This reflects their desire to maximize the alloy’s corrosion properties, thanks to the development of the AOD steelmaking process, which allows for tighter control of composition. In addition, it allows to influence the nitrogen addition level rather than just being present as a background element. Therefore, the highest performing duplex grades seek to maximize the content of chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo) and nitrogen (N).

Stainless Steel 304 Flat Flange
Sometimes called a blanking flange; use to blank off pipelines, valves, and pumps, or as an inspection cover. Suitable for use with Schedule 40 or 80 stainless steel pipe, in applications with air, water, natural gas, and steam.

It is an austenitic stainless steel alloy with high nickel (24%), chromium (22%), molybdenum (6%), and nitrogen (0.18%) content and is commonly known as superaustenitic stainless steel (alloys such as 254 SMO (UNS?S31254) and 904L (UNS?N08904) also fall under the superaustenitic designation) while 2205 (UNS S32305/ S31803) and 2507 (UNS S32750) are duplex and super duplex stainless steel, respectively.

SAE 304 stainless steel is the most common stainless steel. The steel contains both chromium (between 18% and 20%) and nickel (between 8% and 10.5%)[1] metals as the main non-iron constituents. It is an austenitic stainless steel. It is less electrically and thermally conductive than carbon steel. It is magnetic, but less magnetic than steel. It has a higher corrosion resistance than regular steel and is widely used because of the ease in which it is formed into various shapes.[1]

317L stainless steel was developed as an upgrade to 316L stainless steel with increased nickel and molybdenum content.

Stainless Steel 316L Flange is used to terminate the end of a piping system. The Stainless Steel 316L blind flange is basically a flange that does not have a hub or a bored center. 321 stainless steel, also known as UNS S32100 and Grade 321, is primarily comprised of 17% to 19% chromium, 12% nickel, .25% to 1% silicon, 2% maximum manganese, traces of phosphorus and sulfur, 5 x (c + n) .70% titanium, with the balance being iron. With regards to corrosion resistance, 321 Stainless Steel is equivalent to Grade 304 in the annealed condition and is superior if the application involves service in the 797¡ã to 1652¡ã F range. 321 Stainless Steel combines high strength, resistance to scaling and phase stability with resistance to subsequent aqueous corrosion.
UNS S32100 Reducing Tee is preferred due to its ability to work in high pressure and temperature even at a higher temperature.

In addition to nickel, the alloy also contains a large amount of copper. Not only does copper make the UNS S08904 screw resistant to seawater and salt water, it also improves the alloy’s sulphur resistance. The addition of copper content to stainless steel 904L hex bolts provides higher corrosion resistance than conservative chromium-nickel alloys, especially phosphoric, acetic and sulfuric acids.
