AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

S31803 is the Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation for the original duplex stainless steel. The UNS system was created by multiple trade groups in the 1970s to reduce confusion when the same alloy was called different things, and vice versa. Each metal is represented by a letter followed by five numbers, where the letter represents the metal series, i.e. S for stainless steel.

For paper mill applications requiring lower alloy grades that do not have sufficient corrosion resistance. Based on a 22% chromium content, they have a combined austenitic:ferritic microstructure that provides greater strength, corrosion resistance and cost-effectiveness.

The UNS S31803 (ASTM F51) specification has been largely superseded by UNS S32205 (1.4462, ASTM F60). This reflects their desire to maximize the alloy’s corrosion properties, thanks to the development of the AOD steelmaking process, which allows for tighter control of composition. In addition, it allows to influence the nitrogen addition level rather than just being present as a background element. Therefore, the highest performing duplex grades seek to maximize the content of chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo) and nitrogen (N).

The most advantageous feature of welded joints such as A403 is that they provide additional grip and greater strength at the welded joint. This grade has different types of accessories. There are connectors, elbows, unions, elbows and reducers. All these accessories have their own special applications.

Alloy 926 is a super austenitic molybdenum stainless steel with excellent resistance to a variety of highly corrosive environments. The combination of molybdenum and nitrogen in its composition resists pitting and crevice corrosion, while copper improves sulfuric acid resistance, and nitrogen improves yield and tensile strength.

The alloy has good oxidation resistance and creep strength to 1500¡ãF (816¡ãC). It also possesses good low temperature toughness.

316 stainless steel is versatile; it not only has strong forming and welding properties, but also has the ability to fold or crimp, so it can be easily converted into a variety of applications.

The addition of copper to this grade gives it corrosion resistant properties superior to the conventional chrome nickel stainless steels, in particular to sulphuric, phosphoric and acetic acids.

For 304 stainless steel pipe corrosion resistance,excellent performance in a wide range of atmospheric environments and many corrosive media. Pitting and crevice corrosion can occur in warm chloride environments, and stress corrosion cracking can occur above about 600C. It is considered to be tolerant of drinking water up to about 200mg/L chloride at ambient temperature, dropping to about 150mg/L at 600C.

ASTM A453 covers 5 grades of bolts with 12 yield strength grades ranging from 50 to 120 ksi [345 to 827 Mpa] for high temperature applications such as fasteners for pressure vessel and valve flanges. Super Duplex UNS S32760 /F55 Flanges are made up of the super duplex grade of stainless steel. As a butt weld fitting, it works with lap flanges. The use of stainless steel short pipe ends and lap flanges can effectively reduce pipeline maintenance costs. Grade 304 stainless steel is generally considered the most common austenitic stainless steel. It contains a high nickel content, typically between 8 and 10.5 weight percent, and a substantial amount of chromium around 18 to 20 weight percent. Other major alloying elements include manganese, silicon and carbon. The rest of the chemical composition is mainly iron.

1.4529 (UNS N08926) has very high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in halide media and in acidic environments containing sulfur and hydrogen
It can effectively resist chloride ion stress corrosion, and also has good corrosion resistance and good stability in oxidizing and reducing media.
The mechanical properties are slightly better than 904L, and it can be used in the manufacture of pressure vessels from -196 to 400 ¡ãC.

SAE 304 stainless steel is the most common stainless steel. The steel contains both chromium (between 18% and 20%) and nickel (between 8% and 10.5%)[1] metals as the main non-iron constituents. It is an austenitic stainless steel. It is less electrically and thermally conductive than carbon steel. It is magnetic, but less magnetic than steel. It has a higher corrosion resistance than regular steel and is widely used because of the ease in which it is formed into various shapes.[1]

Alloy 310S, like 309S, is known for high temperature applications. Both alloys work well at temperatures up to 2000¡ãF, especially where oxidation resistance is required. 310 stainless steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel with good oxidation and corrosion resistance due to the high ratio of chromium to nickel.

Stainless steel is on average 2.5 times stronger than copper and performs far much better on the strain and stress tests. The relatively weaker structure for copper makes its piping vulnerable to external forces that may cause cracks and leaks.

Steel pipes can be disintegrated on the basis of its application. The solution annealing treatment is required prior age hardening / precipitation hardening. The single phase microstructure created during solution annealing is required prior to age hardening, such that only the precipitates formed during age hardening will be present in the final product. The composition, size, and quantities of those precipitates formed during aging will determine the final product’s hardness, strength, and mechanical properties after aging. It is critical that the structure be properly solution treated prior to aging in order to meet all of these requirements.
