Hastelloy C276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium superalloy with an addition of tungsten designed to have excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of severe environments.Alloy C-276 is one of the most universally corrosion resistant alloys available today. It is used in a variety of environments ranging from moderately oxidizing to strong reducing conditions. Alloy C-276 has exceptional resistance to sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, formic acid, acetic acid, chlorides, solvents, wet chloride gas, hypochlorite and chlorine solutions.

Hastelloy C-4 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with outstanding high temperature stability. It has high ductility and corrosion resistance. It’s high temperature resistance up to 1900 ¡ãF (1038 ¡ãC) makes it suitable for most chemical process application in the “as” welded condition.
Like other nickel alloys, it is ductile, easy to form and weld, and possesses exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing solutions (a form of degradation to
which the austenitic stainless steels are prone). With its high chromium and molybdenum
contents, it is able to withstand both oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids, and is resistant to
pitting and crevice attack in the presence of chlorides and other halides.

Hastelloy C276 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum wrought alloy considered to be the most versatile corrosion-resistant alloy known. This alloy is resistant to grain boundary deposits in the weld heat affected zone, making it suitable for most chemical process applications in the as-welded condition. Meanwhile, Hastelloy C276 fasteners are considered to be the most versatile and high-strength fasteners, finding their suitability in many industrial applications. These are nickel-molybdenum-chromium forged alloy fasteners that perform well in a variety of harsh environments. The presence of molybdenum and chromium content makes nickel alloy steel more resistant to crevice and pitting corrosion. Hastelloy c276 bolts are the highest quality bolts in the alloy series. Hastelloy C276 Flanges Hastelloy C276 Flanges are made up of the nickel chromium molybdenum alloy that is called hastelloy. The composition includes 50.99% nickel, 14.5% chromium, 15% molybdenum and carbon, manganese, silicon, sulfur, cobalt, iron and phosphorus in it. The Hastelloy C276 Flanges have high melting point of 1370 degrees Celsius. This high melting point allows for higher operating temperatures of the flanges. The material also has 790MPa minimum tensile strength and 355MPa minimum yield strength.

Hastelloy C22 socket weld flanges are used in the chemical process industry in equipment like flue gas scrubbers, chlorine systems, sulfur dioxide scrubbers, pulp, and paper bleach plants, pickling systems.

For example, ASTM B574 bolts perform well at pressures around 5400 kPa during acid leaching.

Alloy 22 (UNS N06022) is the most versatile Nickel Chromium Molybdenum Tungsten alloy with controlled Iron. Due to Alloy 22’s content this alloy exhibits excellent resistance to both oxidising and reducing acid environments as well as those containing mixed acids.

Typical chemical process industry (CPI) applications for Hastelloy C22 punch gaskets include reactors, heat exchangers and columns. Hastelloy C22 flat washers have excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, tool marks and weld heat affected zone erosion.

This nickel alloy provides excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures. In additions, Hastelloy B2 pipe bend has excellent resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking and to knife-line and heat-affected zone attack.

Hastelloy B2 studs have poor corrosion resistance to oxidizing environments and are therefore not recommended for use in oxidizing media or in the presence of iron or copper salts as they may cause rapid premature corrosion failure.
