This provides greatly enhanced resistance to sulfuric acid. It also has a high chromium content, to maximize its resistance to oxidizing chemicals and process streams contaminated with ferric ions and dissolved oxygen.

It is able to withstand a wide range of oxidizing and non-oxidizing chemicals, and exhibits outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice attack in the presence of chlorides and other halides.

The material is resistant to chlorides and acids so that the primary uses are in the acid processing, chemical, sea water and marine applications.

Alloy 22 (UNS N06022) is the most versatile Nickel Chromium Molybdenum Tungsten alloy with controlled Iron. Due to Alloy 22’s content this alloy exhibits excellent resistance to both oxidising and reducing acid environments as well as those containing mixed acids.

Hastelloy offer very good resistance to strong reducing and moderately oxidizing corrosive acids, as well excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance and resistance to localized attack.

The ANSI B16.5 Hastelloy C22 Weld Neck Flanges is an austenitic alloy grade that is considered to be versatile in nature. Chemically, the DIN 2.4602 Slip On Flange consists of elements such as nickel, chromium, molybdenum & tungsten as a primary base in the alloy.

It has great resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and pitting. Hastelloy B-2? also features hydrochloric acid resistance at all concentrations and temperatures.

Alloy B-2 has poor corrosion resistance to oxidizing environments, therefore, it is not recommended for use in oxidizing media or in the presence of iron or copper salts, which may cause rapid premature corrosion failure.

The high content of chromium offers good resistance to oxidizing media while the molybdenum and tungsten content in the Hastelloy B3 Pipe Flanges provides the alloy with good resistance to corrosion in reducing media.

UNS N10665 or W.Nr. 2.4617, Hastelloy B2 (also known as “Alloy B2”), is a solid solution reinforced Ni Mori with low additions of carbon, silicon and iron. It can be used to reduce chemical environment and chemical processing industry. However, Hastelloy B2 should not be used in temperatures from 1000¡ãF to 1600¡ãF and should not be used in oxidizing media.

Alloy C276 is a nickel, chromium and molybdenum alloy. Hastelloy C276 is designed for excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance in a variety of environments. These alloys also show resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.

Today, Alloy B2 with restricted chemistry can be used in the welded condition and is less susceptible to SCC under many conditions. As always, care must taken in selecting the right alloy for the desired application.

Hastelloy C276 alloy has excellent resistance to a variety of chemical process environments, including strong oxidizing agents (such as ferric chloride and cupric chloride), hot fouling media (organic and inorganic), chlorine, formic and acetic acid, acetic anhydride, and seawater and saline solution. In fact, these Hastelloy c276 fasteners can be used in oxidizing atmospheres up to 1900¡ãF. Additionally, Hastelloy c276 hex bolts tend to perform extremely well in high pressure environments. For example, ASTM B574 bolts perform well at pressures around 5400 kPa during acid leaching.

Alloy C276 is a Ni-Cr-Mo alloy containing W and very low carbon and Si content.
