This makes it excellent resistance to chloride-induced pitting, although in most cases C-276 fasteners are a more cost-effective option due to their availability, especially in sizes smaller than 1/ 2″ case.

Due to reduced ductility, B2 fasteners are not recommended for use between 1000¡ãF and 1600¡ãF.

The alloy is used in flue gas desulfurization systems. It has excellent resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking, and resists wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide. The alloy is also resistant to seawater and brine solutions.
