Through additions of chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen localized corrosion such as pitting and crevice attack are improved. Alloy 2507 has excellent localized pitting resistance.

S31803 has been supplemented by S32205 (F60) which dual conforms to S31803 but has a higher minimum N, MO, NI and Cr which guarantees a better corrosion resistance.

2507 is a super-duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel for service in highly corrosive conditions.

Super Duplex 2507 (F53 / 1.4410 / UNS S32750) has excellent corrosion resistance to a variety of media, and has excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in seawater and other chloride-containing environments, with a critical pitting temperature exceeding 50¡ãC.

Duplex 2205 stainless steel (ferritic and austenitic) is widely used in applications requiring good corrosion resistance and strength. Grade S31803 stainless steel was modified several times, resulting in UNS S32205, which was recognized in 1996. The standard duplex material consists of 22% chromium, 4.5% nickel, 3% molybdenum, manganese, silicon, nitrogen, phosphorus, carbon and sulfur. Duplex 2205 screws and other fasteners have minimum yield strengths up to 97ksi and minimum tensile strengths up to 131ksi. Duplex 2205 hex bolts are nearly twice as strong as austenitic grade steel bolts. They have higher mechanical properties, so 1.4462 alloy 2205 studs and other types of bolts can meet different specifications such as ASME SA 182, 240, 479, 789.

Duplex alloys have some of the ferritic stress corrosion cracking resistance of common austenitic stainless alloys and many of the superior formability properties that are more cost effective than high nickel alloys.

The Super Duplex 2507 Pipe is made with 25% of chromium, 4% of molybdenum, and 7% of nickel in their composition. As a result, these pipes possess superior corrosion and erosion resistance in various stress-induced environments.
