The flange connection type usually comes with double units, with a gasket and some bolts & nuts to connect each other. (Firstly pipes are welded on the flanges, then valves and other equipment could be installed on flanges.)

When connecting these parts, put gasket in the middle of two flanges, then tightening the flange screws, so the two will be connected together tightly.

In case pipeline maintenance, we can remove screws on the flange, take away corresponding pipes or valves. Meanwhile to replace new pipes and valves.

The granular structure of duplex is a ferrite-austenite hybrid with a superior strength to weight ratio in comparison to 304 or 316. It balances the weldability of an austenitic with a pure ferritic and retains decent mechanical toughness in applications with exposure to colder ambient temperatures.

Duplex¡¯s premium mechanical and chemical properties are slightly offset by its difficulty in formability.

2205 helps users to avoid stress corrosion cracking that is typically seen with 316 and 317.

Duplex 2205 flanges combine the qualities of stress corrosion cracking resistance and high strength derived from being a ferritic alloy along with its austenitic fabrication capabilities.

2205 flange has good general corrosion resistance, high resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, as well as pitting and crevice corrosion.

2205 flange has good sulfide stress corrosion resistance and high strength and good fatigue resistance.

In comparison to SS316, Duplex 2205 has been tested under reverse bending stresses at room temperature. The results show that the fatigue limit/yield strength is about twice as high for Duplex 2205.

Duplex 2205 flanges offer good sulfide corrosion resistance, as well as chloride pitting and crevice corrosion resistant superior to 317L.
