AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

300 series grade stainless steel is a chromium-nickel alloy that is manufactured into a range of products including stainless steel tubes and steel pipes. Although both of these steels are considered low carbon steel alloys, they are quite different. For example, “L” stands for “low” in 316l stainless steel, meaning the alloy has a very low carbon content. The 316l variant is also more resistant to solder corrosion and can withstand higher temperatures than the 316. This is why 316l is often used in marine and architectural projects.

Steelmaking begins with the smelting of iron ore, which then removes impurities such as phosphorus, silica and sulfur.

S32750 (2507) is a duplex stainless steel that combines many of the excellent properties of ferritic and austenitic steels. Due to its high chromium and molybdenum content, it exhibits excellent resistance to pitting, crevice and uniform corrosion. The two-phase microstructure ensures that the steel has high resistance to stress corrosion cracking and high mechanical strength. In addition, it also has the characteristics of strong resistance to chloride pitting, high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion coefficient.

The solution treatment temperature of 304/304L stainless steel pipe is 1080-1100¡æ, water cooling or air cooling. The intermediate annealing temperature of cold working is 850-970 ¡ã C, and water cooling after a certain period of time. The steel structure is austenite after solution treatment, and sometimes there is a small amount of ferrite.

Hardness and tensile strength can be increased by cold working, but modified by lowered carbon content providing good resistance to corrosion in welded construction where subsequent heat treatment is not practical.
