AL6XN is a superaustenitic stainless steel with outstanding resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. AL6XN is a 6 moly alloy that was developed for and is used in highly aggressive environments. It has high nickel (24%), molybdenum (6.3%), nitrogen and chromium contents that give it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, chloride pitting, and exceptional general corrosion resistance. AL6XN is primarily used for its improved pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chlorides. It is a formable and weldable stainless steel.

S31803 is the Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation for the original duplex stainless steel. The UNS system was created by multiple trade groups in the 1970s to reduce confusion when the same alloy was called different things, and vice versa. In addition, it allows to influence the nitrogen addition level rather than just being present as a background element. Alloy 347 (UNS S34700) is columbium stabilized austenitic stainless steel plate with good general corrosion resistance and somewhat better resistance in strong oxidizing conditions than 321 (UNS S32100).

The solution annealing treatment is required prior age hardening / precipitation hardening. The single phase microstructure created during solution annealing is required prior to age hardening, such that only the precipitates formed during age hardening will be present in the final product. The composition, size, and quantities of those precipitates formed during aging will determine the final product’s hardness, strength, and mechanical properties after aging. It is critical that the structure be properly solution treated prior to aging in order to meet all of these requirements.

Alloy 317L is non-magnetic in the annealed condition.

Butt weld flanges are typically used in applications where high pressure is a concern. The inner diameter of the flange is designed to match the inner diameter of the pipe. Incoloy 926 is more heat resistant than typical chrome-nickel stainless steel such as 304. The high nickel contained within gives it better oxidation resistance than the standard 18-8 type stainless steel.

In order to suppress the welding of carbide precipitation, 304/304L stainless steel pipes can be welded by common welding methods. Manual arc welding, the thin section size of 304 stainless steel with 0.04%-0.06% carbon can be used with Austrian 002 electrode, which will not cause intergranular corrosion after welding. For thick section rulers, keep the resistance after intergranular corrosion resistance. , should be changed to 304L stainless steel or stabilized austenitic stainless steel.
